Patagonia National Park Book

Patagonia National Park is one of the most important ecological restoration projects in South America. Once one of the largest cattle ranches in the Aysén region and subjected to a century of overgrazing, its ecosystems have been successfully recovering thanks to an intense rewilding project begun in 2004. Today, this remarkably emblematic park on Patagonia’s Route of Parks hosts one of the highest levels of terrestrial biodiversity in the Aysén region. (2022)

Brochure Rewilding Chile 2024

We are Rewilding Chile, a non-profit organization, a legacy of Tompkins Conservation. In the early 1990s, our founders, Kristine and Douglas Tompkins, decided to dedicate their lives to conserving the beauty and biodiversity of Chilean Patagonia to counteract the crisis of species extinction and climate change. Three decades later, we continue to push this same vision: without healthy ecosystems, with all its species and complexity of relationships and processes, there is little opportunity for the human and non-human worlds to flourish.
